I have reached my brick wall for my Jackson ancestry and hope there is someone out there to point the way back!
I have a marriage cert (after Banns) for John Jackson (full age) Batchelor and Ellen Burton (full age) Spinster. They married at the Parish Church of Winwick on June 24th 1844 and both were residents of Golborne. John's father's name looks like Nathan and Ellen's father's name was Thomas Warburton. Witnesses: William Carr & Thomas Warburton. I was recently told that "Ellens family were farmers with 1,000 head of cattle and the town of Burtonwood is derived from their name".
John's later heirs/family formed a clog dancing act and later Music Hall Act called "The Eight Lancashire Lads" who famously gave Charlie Chaplin his first major job on the stage abt 1898 - 1901 and they can all be seen on the 1901 Lambeth Census as such. Has anyone got any info which can help me please?
