Liverpool History Projects including RC marriages

Post by MaryA »

http://www.liverpoolhistoryprojects.co.uk/

I suspect this site will be very exciting. There are a number of projects including a much cheaper way to purchase certificates for RC marriages between the dates 1872-1901.

I've tested it and there are a lot of entries uploaded there, but I think there may be more to come. "Eventually it will cover the years (1837-1901) and is being uploaded in ten year batches."

What an exciting site :D I don't have any RC marriages as far as I know, but there will be other areas covered soon that could be useful. Old maps of Liverpool would be great

Thanks for posting Mary. It's a super site .
Site says there MAY be info that is not on the civil certs and that there are plans to put baptisms on
I ordered this morning with no problems and apparently I'm the first customer. Nice to be first at something :)

It will be interesting to see if any comments are included. Sometime ago I was searching the St Oswalds marriages and found that the priest had noted the date of baptism next to the entry, it helped a lot in finding the entry, and of course the reverse was the case, the marriage was noted by the side of the baptism.

Update us when you have your cert - a bargain at £3.00.

The "extra" I got for a St Patrick's Toxteth Park marriage in 1883 was the addresses of the witnesses.

You get a transcription in Latin along with an English translation.

Well that's something I've never seen on a certificate before, could be quite useful.
