Hi
Do you know if it is possible to look up a particular street in census records if you cannot find your relatives by name? I know the street name (Upper Wolfe Street, Liverpool) and have searched online directories. The relatives are in the 1851 census but I cannot find them in 1861. I have searched about a dozen other names in 1861 who were neighbours in 1851 but haven't had any luck with them either so I'm hoping a street search might shed some light.
Thank you
PS I use Ancestry for my searches

Re: Searching census records
According to a 1863 newspaper obit, Elizabeth Maddison, 98 Upper Wolfe Street.
1861 census,
98 Wolfe Street.
I suspect it just been recorded as Wolfe instead of Upper Wolfe.

Re: Searching census records
Many thanks for your suggestions. After further head scratching and digging I found the record in WOOLF Street. I used another residents name again and there it was. A bit of toing and froing through the pages and I found the Doyle's. I don't understand why my original search for the name I knew failed to show these results.
