Library Newspapers

Post by Bertieone »

Is anyone else having trouble accessing 19th century British Newspapers online via their local library, mine went AWOL about 5 days ago, even been taken off the index page.

Thank you.

Thanks Mary,

I tried my barcode in that and it didn't work, I didn't think it would.

I'll take a walk to the library and see what the story is :)

I access Lancs Libraries' newspapers like Mary. Liverpool libraries no longer provide access and the version of Find My Past on PC in Liverpool Libraries doesn't give access to the Find My Past collection of newspapers.

Thanks Mary, Blue.

Will do if I can't sort mine out.

I haven't got a Lancashire address, any problems with that?

None at all, they say you can join from anywhere in the UK but I believe others may have managed it from abroad too.

A note of caution. When I last used Lancs libraries site for newspapers, the only Liverpool paper I could reach was the Mercury, and only to 1900.
Things might have have changed...

Not so bad, it's all I get from Birkenhead library, when it works.

Excellent service.
