Photographs - 38 South Castle St 1911

Post by Hawkeye »

I was hoping if someone can assist me with the following please?
My Great Grandfather "William Cook" is shown in the Gores Dir 1766-1946 as owning a Gunsmith shop at 38 South Castle St, Liverpool. I know the shop was there in 1911 as there are records showing it as his residence as well as a shop. Would there be any old photographs taken around 1911 available for viewing in a the local library, if so how would i be able to access them?

Regards

Jon

There is a large Engineer's collection at the Record Office, you could contact them by email on this page https://liverpool.gov.uk/libraries/arch ... y-history/ and also search the catalogue. There are also a number of facebook groups where people have their own collections and are willing to share, search for "Liverpool" and choose some likely ones to join, if the age and style of photographs aren't what you are looking for you can always leave the group, you'll soon get to see which are suitable.
