Lancashire OPC

Post by lynne99 »

Hi all. I am an admirer of the Lancashire on line Parish Clerks and was wondering if any other county does anything similar. I have tried to find others especially Yorkshire, Birmingham and Westmoreland, but have not been able to find anything of such use and quality. A big thanks to our Lancashire site and can anyone help with others?

I agree it's one of the most useful transcription sites as it gives all of the information rather than just the names and year.

Genuki has this list of those around the country, not a huge amount but better than none http://www.genuki.org.uk/indexes/OPC.html

Otherwise check http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/ where a lot of links seem to have been collected together.

Thanks both. I have used ancestry a lot, but I always miss things so I will follow your links Blue. I cannot find any other OPC that actually give the records. I think I must be dense. Thanks again.
I sat yesterday, thinking whether to use "off Topic" or "other areas" I obviously chose the wrong one , sorry.

It really doesn't matter at all, but I tend to think the other boards are where we would try to do some research help in response to a query whereas here is perhaps for more general advice.

Hope you didn't mind my moving it.
