William Coleman died 23 May 1916

Post by Jim_Sangster139 »

As mentioned in the subject heading William Coleman died 23 May 1916. From his death certificate I have learned that he died as a consequence of an accident at work. An Inquest was held on 26 May 1916.
From other sources I have uncovered many others details of his life but I still haven't found where he was buried or otherwise. William was a Roman Catholic but it appears he wasn't buried at Ford Cemetery.
At the time of his death he was residing at 72 Akenside Road, which is off Knowsley Road, Seaforth, Bootle. Any help in locating his grave will be very much appreciated. Jim 925

I think your first call should be the newspapers to see if there is an obituary as where the funeral took place may be mentioned.

The records for St James, Chestnut Grove, and St Winifride, Oriel Road, Bootle are held at the Liverpool RO, however there is a large cemetery in Bootle whose records I believe are held at Crosby.

Do you know if any other family members may have been buried in a different cemetery in Liverpool where a family grave may be owned?

Good evening All. I'm sorry for the delay in responding to the help I have received, but I have been distracted by a number of medical problems which fortunately have been resolved. Once again thank you all for your speedy replies, particularly Bert for the newspaper report from the Daily Post. Keep up the good work. Jim925
