Hello I have come across these 2 baptisms in my extended family and am just following the girl out of interest as she ended up in Clatterbridge Workhouse, maybe the boy too as this looks like her brother. Can somebody please translate this from Latin into English for me. TIA.
Searching in FMP using the surname of Ryan and the father's name of Gulielmi (is that William?) I've come across one more baptism 10 years earlier in 1870.
I've also often found that if the priest wasn't sure of the latin, he might also make it up, I usually try search RC records with a surname and range of dates and scan down the list to see if any catch my eye.

Yes Bertie that's the same family. The daughter Bedelia somehow managed to get out of the Workhouse, get married and have children. Her parents died in the workhouse at ripe old ages and are buried in the Catholic church in Neston, off the top of my head her father was there over 2 censuses but I don't know when they were admitted as apparently the Workhouse records for Clatterbridge haven't survived.
Thanks Mary that's very useful, I've bookmarked it for future reference.
