East Yorkshire Regiment on D Day

Just a quick query which I am sure you will answer quickly
I am trying to find out which beach my Uncle John Creaby would have been on
As you know East Yorks had 2 Battalions landing on D Day
Private 4347586 John Creaby was also in the 8th Army and received the Italy Star his service record reads like this:
M.E. 14-7-42 to 28-8-43
B.N.A.F 29-8-43 to 7-11-43
N.W.E. 1-6-44 to 8-6-44
N.W.E. 3-8-44 to 7-10-44
He was a very quiet man and I could never get him to talk about the war.
Could you work out where he was during the ME & BNAF dates listed and how far into France he got before he was wounded and had to evacuated as his left leg had to be amputated.
He once told me he didn't like Montgomery because he cut down their cigarette
Ration !! He was a heavy smoker but lived till 80 plus years.

You could try the website of the successor regiment to the East Yorks, The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire. They appear to offer help with research.
