Thomas David Thomas born 1865 in Stone Staffs was married in 1890 to Beatrice Jane Brittian born in 1873 in Altringham. They lived around Oswestry.

I am looking into to Family side of Thomas David Thomas.

Is there any way I can find this out or do I need to obtain a copy of their marriage certificate.

I hope somebody can point me in the right direction

Are you trying to track Thomas' family back in time or forwards? Either way you should get the marriage certificate because it will give you his occupation, his father's name and occupation and might indicate if his father was deceased. The names of witnesses are often important as they might indicate siblings etc. Every snippet of information is grist to the mill.

For example, there are 4 Thomas Thomases bn abt 1865 and residing in Staffordshire in the 1871 census. That's why his father's name is important. Likewise his birth cert will be vital to find his mother's maiden name.
Incidentally, regarding that birth year of 1865, unless he acquired the David at baptism/christening there were only 4 such births registered in England and Wales between 1860 and 1870.

Looks like you have solved my problem.

1901 is correct and in 1871 it would seem that John Thomas is the father of Thomas David Thomas, and tales of his brewing business we have been told about is correct.

Well done, now I have a bit more to add to the tree.

Staffs BMD have the marriage 1890 held at Christ Church Stone.

There is a tree for Beatrice in Anc. Thomas father John 1828 Henfache, Llanrhaiadr Denbigh-1892 Oswestry.
Interesting comment, he was the Mayor of Oswestry 1868, 77,78 & 1888.
In 1861 employed 12 men brother Wm Thos partner & bookkeeper.
Married Anne Elizabeth Jones in Montgomery.
born Welshpool 1840c died Edmonton 81yrs 1921.
Interesting too, she was a magistrate in 1881 & 91 census.

Thos younger brother was Rev John Llewellyn Pugh Thomas!

You're welcome David.
In the latest census I've sent an error subscription to Anx, they have John the minister's name of Pugh wrong.
He has been married for 9 yrs but no wife listed, 3 servants, a Minister in Established Church is all it says.
Niece Ursula Maude Pugh Thomas 4 yrs living with him, bn Liscard Cheshire.
Aldbury Vicarage Much Hadham Herts.

I also see the wife John Thomas is 10 years younger than him. Her mother must have said to her he will be a good catch for you Annie, and with a brewary as well.

Just to say John & Anne E must have been good employers as Eliza Foulkes servant in 71 is still with them in 81 a Welsh lass.
When he died in 1891 some of his kiddies young.
Rupert Gerald bn 1880, Wiliam Basil 1883 Olive Dorothy 1884.
If you google Leg St Oswestry you will see Coney Green to the lower right.
The Thomas house was somewhere between according to the enumerator's walk in 1901.

More wonderful information about John Thomas. He was far more important than we thought and to build that large house on the hill.

The author of that article was a relation of the man as well.

I have to adjust again my family tree and add 13 pages, but what a excellent story.

You're very welcome David. When I found the link, it was just wonderful reading about the Thomas family.
The house looks like something from the Addams family, isolated and with those towers.
My family were Thomas, after my Dad changed his Italian name during WW2, he'd been a British Tommy.
My nephews and gt nephews & nieces are all Thomas.
My late brother was known as Thommo all of his working life in the P.O.
