An enquiry has come via the Society online form and we wondered if anybody would be able to assist with it.
I am currently conducting some research into the cultural effects of the the atomic bomb in Britain. I am interested in people's anxieties and the emotions towards the atomic bomb dating from around 1945 - 1960. I was wondering if you would possibly be able to assist me in my search for candidates or if any of the members of your history society would be interested in having a chat with me about their experiences? Any help in my search would be massively appreciated.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Re: Research - cultural effects of the atomic bomb in Britai
Thanks Mary, I'll email the young lady about the nuclear tests here in Australia at Maralinga.
Britain deceived Australia about the safety of these tests and their own servicemen.
So many died young from cancer.
Also the aboriginal people, warning signs written in English!! Stillbirths, disabled children...
The next generation of rabbits were born blind, which says it all.

Thanks Tina, I wonder if she will expect such a great response from so far away, the effects of these things were very widespread.
