Anyone know how the houses were numbered on St George's Hill i.e did they start at the Netherfield Road end?

Was this in St Helens or do you mean Netherfield Road in Liverpool?

If you found this on a census could you give us the details and we might be able to work it out from the enumerator's walk.

Hi Keith

I don't know if this helps, in 1938 Directory St George's Hill starts at 22 Netherfield Rd North.
1-7 has next corner as McGregor St
9-29 next corner St George's St
31-65 Fairy St.
