Welcome to our Forum your Nan's story that was published in the Family Tree Magazine in August was very good, well written. The Liverpool Echo also brought the story to everyone's attention, and it has been posted on other forums. I gave a talk to a group about how we were able to use the newspaper's to find out your nan's start in life. I'm sure someone out there will read Baby Alice's story and come forward.

Thanks for spreading the word - that's fantastic, thank you again.

Without a doubt my search would have been dead in the water without newspapers. Especially as the Ormskirk Petty Sessions records were lost.

I remain very grateful for the tenacious eagle-eyed researcher who spotted the article in the library that day. I have since found via digital archives, mention of the story in nine US newspapers! Total count is now 25 papers.

Glad you thought the magazine article was well-written - it was a challenge condensing it all under the word limit.

The Echo asked if they could run the story. So I said yes, hoping it would reach a broader audience. I saw the online version of it only. Did they run any photos with the print version?
