The will have resided in the courts which consisted of about 10 houses in total and the address would have been 2nd House 10th Court Bevington Street. If you google Liverpool Court Houses you may find some pictures of the Courts. My Mum was born at 9 House 2nd Court Silvestor Street and there was a pipe in the middle of the court where they got water from. Hope this helps

Hi Bernie

There may be pictures at Sandhills of Bevington Street I dont know if there are pictures of the courts on Bevington Street. The link that Blue70 posted is what the courts looked like so as to give you a idea of them

If you google Bevington Street Liverpool you should get a modern map of the area with the option to zoom in at street level.

Here's an old map from the LHP website if you look for Eldon Place just to the north is Bevington Street. To see the wider area "zoom out":-

The Courts

Post by dickiesam »

Hi Bernie,
There are plenty of photographs of what were euphemistically called Courts, which were really cul-de-sacs of tiny dwellings, on this site:

Yours may be among them if you browse the site long enough.
