luxor wrote:Not easy. This looks the best hope... County Louth, Owen, a Railway Labourer, could be a Blacksmith. You've got an Elizabeth and a Margaret about the right age.
I think this one has definite possibilities, though there is no Peter listed. I have used this record to search for the births of each of the children listed, particularly Felix. It is very unusual name, but could not find anything that would confirm the parentage for all of the children.
so I am back to square one on this one.

I will keep this in mind. I am not totally convinced, far too big a gap.
from 1891 to date she quotes on the 1939 register of households.
I have a feeling that she and some of other children were not born "Boyle"
but have assumed their father/stepfather's name.
cheers, sharene

OK. I've just hunted out the birth registrations, so I'll leave then here just in case. (Age can be somewhat flexible in Ireland ) Your suspicions could well be right - there seems to have been a huge number of Boyles in Louth.

Thank you, I did locate 2 of these on the ancestry web site, but could not find the remainder. You have done a wonderful job. Thank you.
I will also bookmark the website for further reference in the future.
Thank you again.

Hello all,
Just wanted to let you know, that today I received a lovely message from Tony Hampson is England. He is the grandson of william and elizabeth Hampson (nee Boyle). Tony had no idea that his father had such a large family, and so many siblings.
So what a surprise he has in store when he reads all about the discoveries of his family connections.
Thank you all so much for your help, without you all I could never have gotten to the bottom of the tangled mess I was in.
Thanks again.

But that's not the end of the story. I am still a long way off completing the riddle.
However it was lovely to be able to unravel enough of the story for Tony to find me.
You guys are marvels. You just have an awesome knack of uncovering records I have searched many fruitless miles for.
You deserve all the credit.

Hampson family tree
Wow this is my family tree. I am a daughter of Dorothea. Elizabeth boyle and william Hampson were my grand parents. As a child my mom regaled us with stories od Julia Boyle, she died young and peter, whom i think was an uncle of my mother.
Hi, welcome to the forum and how pleased I am to see that lots more family is connecting to the original query.
