The next page on the census has a Ebenezer Johns, born Pembrokeshire, same capital "P"

Bert, I think you cracked it. Please forget my ramblings about Barrhead. I think I've got that completely and utterly wrong. The letter B I think should read P as in PATHEAD. Pathead is right next door to Dysart in Fyfe. Where William Fletcher and Jean Turpie where wed in 1790. So it looks like William and Jean( Jane ) could still have been in the area until some years latter.
It looks as if Elizabeth Fletcher was born in the area, the census would indicate that. So Where and when would Jacob Fletcher have been born? Sorry have gone off on a bit of a tangent there, please be patient, Jacob has been my wall for many, many years. I must keep digging.

I believe we have progressed as far as we can with this thread. I am very pleased with the results. With the Forums help I now have two more children for the bridewell keeper, Elizabeth and Ann, and possible names for their Grandparent's. I am genuinely impressed with the efforts made, so many thanks.
I think it best To put My Wall, Jacob Fletcher, on the back burner for the time being. Its frustrating because I know his parents, what he did for a living, who he married and when, I know his children's names, how he died and where he was buried. so where the heck did he come from? Well we've all been down these roads
