I have spent the last 9 years trawling through newspapers and indexing them. I have indexes for pictures published in.
The Liverpool Evening Express
Catholic Herald
Liverpool Echo
Liverpool Weekly Post
Liverpool Weekly Mercury
I have indexed the Obituaries for 1916 for the Evening Express. Plus the month of August 1916
Somewhere in my house I must have the Obituaries you now have, I will be ploughing through them and inserting the dates.
Some may find going through the papers boring, but not me.
The last 4 years I have been tackling the Casualty Lists. Sometimes I have felt like tossing it all in the bin. But I have plodded on. I call this condition Soldieritus.
Thanks

We are all proud of Katie's project, even when there are so many problems with the errors on Ancestry or the National Archives, that she feels like jacking it all in, she plods on and has a wonderful resource that many have been thankful for when there is mention of a death, wounded or obituary in her database.

Re: King's Regiment 4th batallion - troop train explosion
There are many of us who have spent many years recording information on Soldiers from WW1. I am the one knowledgeable on Newspapers and what was getting published. We have JoeD who has spent years on his King's Liverpool Regiments work. Daggers who has spent countless years on his various projects, Amanda T and her work on St. James, MaryA and VicMar working on those buried at St. Mary's Walton Parochial and countless more who work quietly away recording and transcribing. All soldieritus suffererers

Well, a big thank you to you all. I recognise Daggers name as he has also helped me in the past and no doubt will again! Belonging to the FHS has been invaluble as far as I have been concerned and I would recommend it to anyone with family links with Liverpool - the joining fee is worth every penny! Just sorry I cannot be of more practical use or attend the meetings as I no longer live in Liverpool.
Thanks again.
