When I started researching my paternal grandparents a few years back I found that they were both born in Liverpool and yet all my family believed they were born in Waterford and Wexford which again demonstrates the need to find evidence of these things and not make assumptions. However My family are certain of Alice living and working at the Scarisbrick and actually met her with her disabled partner at an address in Southport.
In 1978 when my mum died two of my sisters went to Southport but couldn't remember the street they had visited back in the fifties or sixties so I am as sure as I can be that she was there during this time.
As has been suggested I have sent an email to the Southport Visiter so if they print it there may be someone out there who remembers her.
