Yes, confirmed that henry lived in the malloy household.
Both joseph's on the marriage cert are listed as carter's.
I take your point about not knowing him.

I should be really interested, in your good time, to have information that goes back even farther. Just one point, do you believe, that owing to the close proximaty of where joseph lived to catherine that he is indeed the right person (obviously he must have lied about his age) and there isn't another line that has been missed.
Other than that, I can only marvel at the research. If you know anything about Rochdale families I should also like to correspond and get better direction, but perhaps another day on that one.

This Joseph certainly seems to tie in with what I have. As you say he is the only Joseph of around the right age in the area. I'll sort some more out tomorrow.
The father of William (Joseph's father) was a Henry who in turn was the son of William who was born in 1787. That William had a brother Thomas born 1783. I descend from him.
