Rose Ann Kennedy, late Wilson, formerly Cunningham or Quinn
I'm going to have to work out how I went through exactly the same databases and didn't spot those!
Addresses that I know for Rose:
2/5/1843 4 Perry Street (marriage to Thomas Wilson)
30/3/1851 3 Sefton Street (census)
15/3/1852 3 Sefton Street (birth certificate of Francis)
20/1/1856 60 Lower Harrington Street (birth certificate of Catherine)
8/4/1861 60 Harrington Street (census - presumably "Lower")
25/2/1863 60 Lower Harrington Street (Liverpool Mercury)
2/4/1871 14 House 5 Court Prince William Street (census - not certain - children don't match perfectly)
The Alice Quinn in 41 is tempting but it doesn't look like they were there in 51

An interesting observation -
Alice & Rose Quinn at 60 Lower Harrington in 1841 (no known link)
Alice Kennedy ay 60 Lower Harrington Street from at least '56 to '63 as a marine store keeper
In 1851 there is a provision dealer at 60 Lower Harrington Street - not a Quinn or Kennedy (a Peter SYNESS and family).
At 58 Lower Harrington Street is the following:
QUINN, John 45 Master Steavadore Ireland
QUINN, Elizabeth 36 Liverpool
QUINN, Elizabeth Niece 9 1842 Scholar Liverpool

seems too coincidental not to be them in 1841...

Maybe Francis Cunningham dies and then Alice Cunningham marries a Mr Quinn

just as an aside... because don't know how far you are with John Kennedy
I notice next door to him and Rose in 1851 at no 4 Sefton St is a Joseph Clarkson and wife Elizabeth Kennedy, m-in-law Mary Kennedy with them.
JosephClarkson and Elizabeth Kennedy married in 1835, so could she be sister to John, and Mary his mother too

Not on my PC right now so from memory - is she the one described as "marine store dealer" or similar? I've not pursued John as Wilson is the direct line through Mary Ann the eldest child but noticed the similarity in occupation.simone wrote:just as an aside... because don't know how far you are with John Kennedy![]()

Joannis Cunningham Kennedy
Birth Date: 10 Apr 1861
Baptism Date: 14 Apr 1861
Parish: St Patrick
Father's Name: Joannis Kennedy
Mother's name: Rose Anna Cunningham
Now its getting interesting...
Rose Kennedy doesn't appear on the 1881 census because she's remarried:
Rose Ann Kennedy, nee Cunnigham, married 20/09/1877, at St Ann, Liverpool to a Thomas Morrison. It states they were married from 68 Oliver Street, Toxteth (thanks Michelle!)
On the 1881 census 68 Oliver Street has the following:
a FURLONG family
a FREEDMAN family (big house!)
and:
CUNNINGHAM, Thomas Head Married 43 1838 Sailor
CUNNINGHAM, Mary Wife Married 42 1839
Lpool
CUNNINGHAM, David Son Single 15 1866 Scholar
Lpool
CUNNINGHAM, Mary Ellen Daughter 14 1867 Scholar

IVOY, Ellen Relative Widow 68 1813

Also, at 66 Oliver Street (next door presumably)
KENNEDY, Francis Head Married M 26 1855 General Labourer LpoolLancashire
KENNEDY, Helen Wife Married F 26 1855 Wigin Lancashire
KENNEDY, John Son Single M 8 1873 Scholar Wigin Lancashire
KENNEDY, Francis Son Single M 5 1876 Scholar Wigin Lancashire
KENNEDY, Thomas Son Single M 4 1877 Scholar Wigin Lancashire
KENNEDY, Hugh Son Single M 1 1880 Wigin Lancashire

KENNSY, Joseph Head Married M 35 1846 Plasterer Lpool Lancashire
KENNSY, Sarah Jane Wife Married F 25 1856 Lpool Lancashire
KENNSY, Mary Daughter Single F 1 1880 Lpool Lancashire
So no sign of Rose herself but apparently her son is two doors down and an enticing Cunningham family at the address where she got married from a few years previously...

Rose Ann gets another mention in the Mercury on 30 October 1863 for receiving stolen property. "...Rose Ann Kennedy, who formerly kept a marine store, but now resides in a private house in Pleasant-hill street..."25/2/1863 60 Lower Harrington Street (Liverpool Mercury)
Re Francis Cunningham, Lancashire OPC shows a marriage of Francis Cunningham to Mary Gibson in 1825. Mary looks likely to have been born in 1807, daughter of Hugh Gibson and Ellen Holland.
Hugh and Ellen's other children are shown as:
1809 Margaret, 1811 George,
1814 Catherine, James(1811-.1817) Ellen 1815-1818, Ellen 1819, Hugh 1823.
The names Margaret, Catherine and Hugh appear in our Rose's family so maybe these are her aunties/uncles??

Great spot on the news article - I'll need to digest the rest tomorrow (and there was I about to turn in for the night!). ANOTHER CASE OF RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY.- Anthony Gavau and Thomas P. Trainor, who carried on. the business of metal brokers in a cellar in Duke-street; George Pugh, marine-store dealer, Northumberland- street, Toxteth-park; and Rose Ann Kennedy, who formerly kept a marine store, hut now resides in a private house in Pleasant Hill-street, we re brought up on the charge of being in possession of a quantity of copper, brass hushes, and other similar articles, for which they could not satisfactorily account; and John Phillips, who is a licenced broker, having a shop in Gardner's-row. and employed as a joiner at Messrs. Wright, Crossley and Co.'Is rice mill, Rainford-square, was charged with stealing a portion of the property. The whole of the prisoners were brought up on remand. There were three separate cases. In the first, Trainor and Gavan and George Pugh were charged with being in unlawful possession of two brass steps and 28 lb. of brass tubing, the property of the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board. Samuel Merrick, brass fitter, in the employ of the board, proved that on the 21st of this mionth he took the steps produced from a crane at the George's Dock, and placed them in the stores at the Coburg Dock. Patrick Coghlan, storekeeper in the employ of the dock board, identified the brass tubing produced -as belonging to the board, police officer No. 812 proved that he found a portion of the property in the cellar of the prisoners Trainor and Gavan, and the remainder on the premises of Pugh. Prisoners Kennedy and Trainor were next charged with being in possession of a bar of copper weighing 1 cwt. 22 lbs. Charles Hunter, weight-taker in the employ of Messrs. Frederick Huth and Co., Chapel-street, stated that a number of copper bars were Ianded from the ship Tacna, in the Queen's Dock, and that subsequently one of these bars was missing. This bar was traced to the possession of the prisoners. John Phillips was charged with stealing a quantity of brass bushes the peoporty of Alessrs. Wright, Crossley, and Co. William Roberts, foreman millwright to the firm, proved that the bushes produced had been on their premises previous to the fire which took place on the 5th instant, and Mary White, marine store dealer, Dryden-street, proved that she bought the bushes of the prisoner within the last 14 days. The whole of the prisoners were committed for trial.
Now to find the trial!

LIVERPOOL POLICE COURT
STOLEN COTTON Rose Kennedy the keeper of a marine store in Lower Harrington Street was brought up on remand charged with being unable to account satisfactorily for the possession of a quantity of Surat cotton. It appeared that on the 14th instant about half a bale of cotton was missed from the warehouse of Mr Raffles in Norfolk Street. On Monday week detective officers George and Cretney found a quantity of cotton answering the description of that stolen at the marine store of Mr Doran in Blundell Street. Mr Doran on being questioned, stated that he had purchased the cotton from the prisoner, with whom he had had several transactions. The property had been sold to him as beds. Mr Cobb, for the defence, urged that the cotton sold by the prisoner to Mr Doran had been in her possession two months before the alleged robbery. The magistrates inflicted a fine of 40s. and costs, and cautioned the prisoner to be more careful in her purchases in future.
