53 GT HOWARD STREET
Re: 53 GT HOWARD STREET
Hi, if you recall we spoke some years back regarding this family, today has been busy and no time to flick thru my papers but I dont think I have any more to post than what has already been posted. If you remember I was more interested in Alice, my Grandmother, and as yet havent had the opportunity to purchase any death certs re; Gt Howard Street. I'll keep you posted - Holly....

Re: 53 GT HOWARD STREET
Hi Holly I have checked the records and I cant find a 6th brother. Philip was the first born named after his father then Francis, Thomas, Robert and William. I found 10 daughters two died in infancy (Ruth and Catherine) Eldest child Margaret, Philip wasn't her father, she was born before Philip snr and Elizabeth met, so unless she's not counted in the 15 children they all seem accounted for according to the 1911 census that shows 15 children born to mother with 13 still living.Do you have a name and year of birth for the 6th son?.....Left me curious to know who the 6th one is! Thanks Bobbi
Re: 53 GT HOWARD STREET
Edmund A. Born 1875 - havent found a death but assume he died in infancy. I havent been researching for a year so if time permits might have a delve on Saturday ... Holly

Hi Holly, thanks for that information. Will try to check that out myself, although never come across Edward before and thought I had all the evidence linking to Philip and Elizabeth re the 15 children they had together. Re: 53 GT HOWARD STREET
Hi Holly, I have checked my records and I have Agnes D'arcy's born on the 30th October 1875 to Philip and Elizabeth D'arcy baptised 14th November 1875 at St Oswald. Not sure were Edmund fits in unless Agnes had a twin, but find it odd that he wasn't baptised along with her, unless he died soon after birth, but long enough to be registered. But, my understanding of that is,they had to have the child chrisened/baptised before they could be buried in consecrated ground. All adds to the mystery of these big families and the info that got lost along the way. Bobbi

Quite coincidental that both entries are on the same page but two quarters separately, I wonder if there has been an error in the compiling of the quarterly indexes.
You could order the certificate for Edmund but state that you only want it if the parents are Philip and Elizabeth, if these are incorrect then you will not be charged.

Re: 53 GT HOWARD STREET
Thank you for the information. It does look as though Agnes and Edmund could have been twins and as you say registered incorrectly. I was always told there were two set's of twins born to Elizabeth and Philip, but thought both sets were girls. On the 1911 census they have listed 13 children lived and two died. 13 in total. I thought I had accounted for all 15. I do know Margaret Tattersall was Elizabeth's daughter, but Philip wasn't the father. I've found evidence in the liverpool baptisim to support she had margaret christened into the Catholic faith prior to her marriage to Philip and can only think they didn't include her in the 1911 census as belong to both. I wonder why Edmund wasn't baptised if he lived long enough for his birth to be registered. I will take your advice and ask for the birth certificate but only if Elizabeth and Philip are parents. Am I right in thinking that twins birth certificates show if they are one of a twin? thanks for all your help Bobbi
Re: 53 GT HOWARD STREET
Quick question do I order the birth certificate through liverpool records office only.?
Re: 53 GT HOWARD STREET
With the references I have supplied you can order a certificate from www.gro.gov.uk - costs £9.25
If they were twins there should be a time as well as a date given as this identifies which was born first.
