Thomas Flanagan

Post by manxcat »

I'm trying to find the parents of Thomas Flanagan whose birth was recorded as Q1 1842 Liverpool vol 20 page 453.

I can't find him on 1851 or 1861 census returns and I don't know if he had brothers or sisters.

A long shot I know but any ideas?

Thanks.

The only way to prove it is to buy the birth certificate but this could be a possibility

Thomas Flanagan born 28 March 1842 christened 17 April 1842 at St Anthony RC parents Andrew and Lucy nee Jones

1851 census at
HO107 2177 folio 88 page 1 I can't make out the address but it's a court

Lucy widow 42 with children William 10, Thomas 8 and Mary 4

Thomas could be the plumber in Fulham London in 1861 and then the painter in West Ham married in 1871.

Andrew Flanagan married Lucy Jones 25 August 1839 at St Nicholas C of E church. The marriage is on Ancestry.

Hope this helps

That 1851 address for the Flanagan family? I believe it to be 1, Court, Wright Street, Liverpool. Some of the families on that page are living in 1 room!

Findmypast had the family transcribed as Hanagan. Correction submitted.

Same phrase... A long shot I know but any ideas? is used here and on Rootschat.

I do too, but I feel it is a shame that research is duplicated as they didn't tell us.

My sincere apologies to all concerned if I have caused any duplication of effort.

I just didn't consider cross-fertilization between boards.

Thank you all once again for the help you have given me
