Are you suffering withdrawal symptoms daggers, no posts

I must admit I've been really busy the last week or so and haven't been able to join in, but I agree with you it is really quiet :!:

Christmas is coming, maybe they've all gone shopping

Just as an aside, my daughter who's a teacher is on a school trip to Belgium this week, visiting the war graves and battlefields. Today she visited my great uncle Sam's grave in Croonaert. I've been a couple of times and it is a beautiful cemetery in the middle of a field and very few graves. Felt quite emotional today, I still find WW1 and all that happened then a most horrific time for so many and I'm thankful we all still take time to remember.

But to answer your original question, "What is the longest time without any post on the forum?"
I haven't a clue

Erika
Fully agree about visiting war cemeteries.
I have been on the other side of the coin today, plotting where our war victims came from, on a map of the parish, to show on Sunday. I seem to be be expected to produce a new angle each year and am running short of ideas.

Everyone else was watching the US Election and the run-up to see if WW3 was just around the corner. The Republicans were certainly rattling the sabres and threatening to nuke Iran.

I'm not here very much as my computer has gone to hospital, using an oldie mouldie one for the next few days but will be popping in as much as I can.

A visit to the War Cemeteries would be a wonderful trip. I don't have many military ancestors, but a few years ago a very kind man offered to visit my uncle's grave in Germany and took some photographs. If you haven't seen then you might like to look at this page http://www.luntfamilyhistory.pwp.blueyo ... raves.html and know the kindness of people who are so willing to help.

Glad to see that it is not you in hospital, but lack of computer is almost an amputation!
Things have livened up since you resumed.
