War memorial dedicated to the 4th West Lancs R.F.A

Looking for a inquest report today and I came across this report in The Liverpool Evening Express published 6th December 1921.

SONS OF THE RED ROSE

A STRIKING WAR MEMORIAL

One of the most striking war memorials to be seen in our streets is now approaching completion in the busiest part of Edge Lane.
Rising in the front of the porch of what used to be called the Old Priory, and which is now the official headquarters of the 4th West Lancashire R.F.A., the monument consists of an enclosed slab of Portland stone encased in decorated pillars with pediment capitals. On the central slab are the lines:

In memory of the officers, non-commissioned officers, and men of the First, Second, and Third Lines of the 4th West Lancs (Howitzers) Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, who fell in the Great War,

On the decorated facings of the pillars on either side are cut the names:

Somme, Whystchate, Ypres, Cambria, Givenchy< Festuburt, La Bassee, Tournai.

On the finely moulded arch of the central tablet is a handsome chiseled crest of the brigade, and underneath the medallions of the Red Rose with the words:

"They win or die who wear the Rose of Lancashire"

I looked in the 1922 Gores and The R.F.A was recorded as being at 140, Edge Lane. This was between Botanic Road and Flaxman Street.

Is this building still there or has it gone the way of other buildings and been demolished. has anyone seen and recorded the Memorial?

The house on Google maps is 134 Edge Lane. I have tried to find out the house number between Botanic Road and Flaxman Street, but I seem to be going around in circles. Can anyone assist?

Looking at Google Earth, the building appears to be the one on the corner of Botanic Road and Edge Lane. That looks similar to other drill halls I have seen.

Ken has the right location, though the present building dates from 1952/3. It is no longer a TA centre. It was known as The Grange, which may help in locating it on maps etc.

I have a photo of the memorial and will try to find and post it. It was demolished some time before 1952.
