Liverpool City Police Records - James Wilson
Re: Liverpool City Police Records - James Wilson
What I am surprised about is the lack of death entries for the parents, especially since, judging by the marriage certificates of the children, I believe they were literate and so I expected them to register any deaths accurately as Johnson.

Re: Liverpool City Police Records - James Wilson
Bless you all for your efforts on my behalf but the real information I would like and do not have is what happened to James and Catherine after 1860.
I am fairly sure that both Ann and John died in the workhouse after 1891 - hence the children being in there.
The marriage certificate reference is Liverpool Vol 8b p 110 and the information on it is:- JJ age 20, carter; Father Peter Johnson, carter
Ann Wilson, 19; father James Wilson, Policeman.
Witnssed by Joseph Tyson and Esther Johnson, sister of the bridegroom. Both bride and groom lived in Bostock Street, Liverpool at the time of the marriage. Ann's age is given as 19 but in fact she was 20 (b March 1854) and John was 19 (b September 1855)
I have managed quite well going back on the Peter Johnson side but cannot get any further on the Wilson side which is the one I would like to pursue.
You are all splendid - I am going through a bereavement at the moment and your good will and help is a real benison.

We are all so very sorry for your loss and are behind you.
We tend to look all round a subject as seeing the overall picture sometimes throws up unexpected clues.
