Grave Matters!!! Toxteth Park Cemetery

Hi there.

Can anyone point me to a website or outline the basic rules regarding burial plots?

For example:
Family Plots
Can these be added to by the cemetery authorities after a certain period of time has elapsed?
I have three members of the same family of ancestors buried between 1859-1872. Then added to the grave is a family of five all from the same address killed on 14.1.1941.

Pauper Graves
I have found several graves with 11 plus all dying in the same year. Presumably they are pauper graves.

Maximum number
Is there a maximum of bodies per ordinary (non pauper) grave?

Hello,

The following document on the Liverpool council website says you can purchase exclusive burial rights for a plot for 75 years. Presumably after that ownership of the plot reverts back to the council:

I'll checkout those websites. The 75 year renting may explain the additional family of five.
