Trying to trace family of Jessie Cowper and Arthur Smith

Post by Maggst25 »

:?: Hello - I am not sure where to start with this as I am hitting so many brick walls - I am trying to trace the family of Jessie McIntosh Smith (nee Cowper) married Arthur Smith in Liverpool 1956, I believe Jessie had 2 sons but the trail then goes very cold. Does anybody have any ideas how I can go about my hunt or is there somebody out there who knows of any members of this family. Many thanks. Maggie :)

You called Tina?
Hi Maggie and welcome to the forum.

As Tina has explained we don't post details of living people to respect their privacy, however we have collected a few suggestions to try to help with this sort of query which can be found here http://www.forum.liverpool-genealogy.or ... =14&t=8154

I would suggest however, that you don't restrict your search to the area of Liverpool and South West Lancashire, but also try the areas around Preston of Fulwood, Fulwood & Penwortham, Longridge, Penwortham, Walton le Dale all of which are covered by the Amounderness Registration District.

Hi Mary - just another quick question - can my search question be altered to take out the names of the 2 sons and just leave Jessie in and Arthur as I believe they could both be deceased. Thanks Maggie.

Hi Maggie
192.com has electoral rolls from 2002 to 2012.
It's a pay per view site.
Good luck with your search

If you had an idea of the area that they lived, Ancestry have some BT phone books online, if you were to find them at the date you know you may be able to continue the search forward for a while.

Hi Tina and Mary - I managed to trace Jessie's brother's family via Genes Reunited and she was born in Scotland but unfortunately the family did not keep in touch with Jessie so the trail went cold again. I have a lot of information about what happened to them up to around 1978 but after that it is a complete blank. Thank you. Maggie.
