Information on John F. Thompson

I was wondering if anyone could help with finding any information on my gr gr gr grandfather. His name was John F. Thompson, from Lancashire, Liverpool. He was born in 1784. That is all we know about him. He stowed away on a ship to come him probably in his 30's. He lived to be a good old age of 97. I would love to find his birthday, parents names and any brother or sister's he might have had. I know it's not much to go on, there are a lot of relatives over here. Could his name be on a military list? Thank you so much, Marilyn.

I don't know if you have a subscription to Ancestry but there are a couple of family trees there which mention a John Thompson in America. There is a photo of a memorial to him - although it gives his age as a hundred!

Thank you Barbara. I have have done a lot of work on Ancestry. I know his rock says he liveds to be almost 100, there are several Thompson's buried at Shihol Cem. But he is as far as any of us can get. I am hoping this site will help. Thanks for the response.
