Brownlow Hill Workhouse street address
Brownlow Hill Workhouse street address
Does anybody know how to tell if a street address on a death certificate could be the Brownlow Hill workhouse? Example: I ordered 2 death certificates from GRO they were both for infants and on one the address was 3 Court Saint James Street and the second one address was 3 Court Crumb(sp?) Street. Thank you. Re: Brownlow Hill Workhouse street address
I believe that the workhouse address was 144a Brownlow Hill
The second address is probably Crump Street, a small portion of which still exists between Greenland Street and Parliament Street very near to the first address in St James St. Since both addresses are 3 Court it might possibly be the same place being described differently.

144A was also the pseudo-address for the Infirmary attached to the workhouse which eventually became a major Hospital. http://www.mersey-gateway.org/server.ph ... aFile.8234Pauline wrote:Does anybody know how to tell if a street address on a death certificate could be the Brownlow Hill workhouse?
