tina the family story goes, that ernest jabez left for liverpool with his 2 daughters, but he took ill on the way, he stayed in st helens??? god knows why? and his daughters boarded a ship each, edith ended up as a nurse in canada, and blanche beatrice married john mckernan in new zealand 1913, she was divorced by 1925, i have the peperwork to prove all that, i just dont know which ships they left on yet!

Hi dawnkaren
All I was trying to say was the girls could not have left in 1890 by sea as they were in 1891 census.
I'm sure your records are correct that they lived in Canada & N.Z
I've looked in fmp shipping records with no luck, just after 1891.(as Hawkins)
Could they have left later?

yes its possible they did leave later, as we know blanche got married nz in 1913 shes got to have got there somehow, a bit far to swim i think lol

actually i think its best to concentrate on when blanche arrived in nz and from where, and then work backwards to england.

Hi, I am a descendant of Ernest's. He died in 1925 on the Isle of Man. He was my great-grandfather.
