Cremation at Anfield

Post by simone »

Hi everyone :D

If someone was cremated at Anfield in 1994, what records could I hope to find :?: I know we can look up burial records at the record office, but where do we stand with cremations...

Thanks

I'm not sure you are going to be lucky at the Record Office I'm afraid. If you search their archives the only entry I find for Registers is
352 CRE Liverpool Crematorium registers Oct 1908-Mar 1992

Try Anfield directly instead and we'd be interested to know what you find.

Thanks Mary. Thought I may have to do that. Was hoping someone may have had to look for cremations and know what info you get. Will try anfield anyway.
Thanks again :)

Some years ago I obtained the information listed on my grandmother's crematorium at St Helens' crematorium. Assuming that places give similar information it was, as far as I remember,

Name, age, coming from (think this was place of death), name and address of person arranging cremation - I think they put the home address if it wasn't the same as the death address

When my father died in the 1990s the cremation was all arranged by the funeral directors. I think the information put in the crematorium records would have been taken from the death certificate and so would have been the same as above. We certainly didn't fill in anything at the crematorium.

I doubt that you would get any more information than from the death certificate besides the date the cremation took place.
