Hi All
Looking for some help or advice
A 2nd cousin of mine who I have met through searching my family history has advised that there was a Newspaper article, in the Liverpool Echo in 1960, regarding our Great Grandmother, was her family one of the largest in Liverpool at that time.
Here are the details I have, from an email she sent me
"Article in the Liverpool Echo when our great grandmother Margaret Johnson was 90 years old (1960)and it asked was Margaret's family one of the largest in Liverpool as she had 5 daughters and 1 son, 40 grandchildren and 121 great grandchildren".
My cousin advised she had seen this in the Library archives, however sadly the printer was not working so she could not get a copy.
Can this be accessed anywhere else e.g. the News Paper Archives. Not a problem if can't be viewed elsewhere, I will add it to my list of "too do" for my visit to the library
Appreciate any replies,
regards
Michelle
Newspaper Article 1960 - Largest Family in Liverpool??
Re: Newspaper Article 1960 - Largest Family in Liverpool??
I think you'll have to look it up at the Record Office. The only problem will be that without a more precise date you'll have a long job ahead of you searching all of 1960.

Many thanks Hilary for your response.
I have the information she was on the 1871, census aged 1, however as you say it could be a long trawl.
I can't find a baptism record for her either, to narrow down the date.
I can only find a baptism for her brother Peter, in 1873, at St Brigids, I know the first stone laid was in 1868, so it may not have been completed then, for Margaret.
Can't find a baptism record for her older brother Stephen either, born circa 1867 who dies tragically aged 10 years.
No baptism for her younger brother either Patrick, born circa 1878.
Her name is Margaret Johnson, born cica 1870, father Patrick Johnson and mother Mary Williams.
thanks again
regards

Sorry I have to agree with Ed Officer, unfortunately you won't find anything online at the date you will be searching, but the Liverpool Echo will be available to search at the Record Office.

Thanks MaryA
Another one to add to my growing list for the library, we will get there eventually, if it was so easy we would not be on this forum helping each other out.
Thanks again
Will post when I am off to the library, if anybody needs a quick look up.
regards
