struggling to tie up in 1861.. but did wonder about this family in 1861 Chorlton
RG 9; Piece: 2881; Folio: 102; Page: 8
Edwd McMillan 44 cotton porter born Ireland
Mary McMillan 44 b Bolton
Charles McMillan 18 b Manchester factory labourere
Sarah McMillan 15 b Manchester, maker up
Francis McMillan 12 b Manchester
Sarah is about 9 years too young, but could she have been fibbing about her age a little later on when she met Edward Dillon..
Could she have named baby after her father?
trying to trace this family in 1871.. can't find Sarah... is that because she is with Edward Dillon.. and if she has had a baby where is he? I am thinking that the Dillons have taken someone else's child as their own a bit later on or maybe Edward Dillon has taken an employee under his wing
found Charles with wife Hannah and his inlaws John and Mary Brown at Chorlton
RG10; Piece: 3992; Folio: 75; Page: 3
he is a Striker...
could he be one of Alderman Bailey's many employees
Francis lodging in Hulme with the Warburton family,
RG10; Piece: 3995; Folio: 19; Page: 32
he is a 'Stiffener'
The Dillon's appear to be a childless couple, so perfect fit to bring up someone's elses secret.. especially if they wanted children... maybe they left Edward off the census on purpose no questions asked
Alderman Bailey could have well known Edward Dillon given Edward's position as Foreman of a Chemical factory
Edward is told at some point who is real father is and the naming of Alderman Bailey at marriage is his way of legitimising and acknowledging that he knows his roots?
so many question still
