Hi from a misty damp dizzling Essex. I don't know if any of our friends on the Forum have links to Essex but thought I would let you know Essex Records Office have just put most of the original Parish Records on line under www.essexancestors.co.uk. It is a "pay" site but reasonable - starting at £5.00 for 24 hours - unfortunately records cannot be printed.

I believe when they first put their filmed parish registers up they were free but they're still very reasonable.

They aren't indexed so it's a case of trawling through looking for what you want but still a very useful resource.

Where there is a will, there is a way and a screen print or screen capture utility!

For instance in Windows 7 there's the onboard SnippingTool.

I use HardCopy and I think there is still a free version on offer at www.desksoft.com. You should find it under 'Old versions' in the left hand pane.
