Looking for some help or comments please.
John George White and Amelia Phillips married in St Philips church Liverpool in November 1831.
I understand that there is a Cheshire collection which I haven't seen. It apparently records a marriage for both names in Cheshire again for 1831! I'm confused. Can anyone with access to this database have a look if they have a few moments?

It appears to be a marriage Allegation.

age Twenty One years and upwards and a Bachelor and intends to marry
Amelia Phillips of the same parish age Twenty One years and upwards and a Spinster.
The Licence is for marriage in the Church of Saint Philip, Liverpool.

I think that the reference to Cheshire listed in the free index on Find my Past refers to the marriage allegation/bond. This will be at Cheshire Record Office as they hold all the bonds that were made by the Diocese of Chester for people south of the River Ribble.
Liverpool was in the Diocese of Chester and as there was a marriage bond this will be at Cheshire Record Office. The bond will state which church the marriage was to take place at. In this case St Phillip Liverpool.

Not living in England is a drawback. Wish I could hop in the car and visit these record offices.
Apparently, Amelia White died in South Africa in June 1884. There is an entry in the Liverpool Echo for 28th July 1884. It would be good to get a copy of that entry. I dont have a sub for the nespaper archive site ... but maybe there is a local archive in Liverpool or Cheshire?
