How to find the names for Burial Numbers

Hello All
Am new to the site, I am trying to help a distant relative(living in Bristol) find out information on a deceased Aunt. Her name is Maud Elizabeth Holloway she died on 5/6/1991 and was a resident of Erlescote Nursing home Mossley Hill. A Father Anthony O'Brien a catholic priest from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Prestbertry was the informant. She was buried in Anfield cemetery in grave number 1475. I visited the cemetery, and one of the groundsmen help me to find the grave, which is in RC 4 with no headstone. He said the records they have show there were two other people interned in the grave besides Maud. He gave me a number to ring to get the burial numbers for those interned in the grave. I rang and they gave me the following burial numbers 47865, 48542 and 82075. He also said Maud Elizabeth Holloway now owned the grave, it was previously owned by a Rebecca Saunders. They said i had to ring 0151-2335817 to get the names from the registers for the burial numbers. I rang and they said they had to pass the details onto Allerton Lodge, as they hold the records, and that they would then ring me. I get a phone call back from the chap at Liverpool direct, who gave me the burial numbers, saying they have received my request back in their office for the names; that should have been forwarded to Allerton Lodge. He advised I go to Liverpool archives online, I havnt tried a yet, thought i would join this site and try here first. So, Im hoping someone on here can please tell me how i can view these burial records or how/where i can get the information. many thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. I've had some experience with Allerton they have the Anfield burial records starting from 1913. The records before that date are in the Liverpool Record Office. Allerton have only ever given me interment numbers of other burials. They will provide a grave section and number only if you provide the name, exact date of death and cemetery otherwise they will charge a search fee of £10.00 per cemetery per year (search enquiry must be made in writing with a cheque for the correct fee). They could have a policy not to disclose any of the other names of those buried in graves for privacy reasons.

I usually e-mail them. I've sent an e-mail asking them about their policy on giving names of other burials. The only telephone number I have is 233 3004. I think it's via Liverpool Direct.

The telephone number does go through Liverpool Direct, they take the details and pass the enquiry over to Allerton Lodge.

Once the cemetery Office have provided the buriel order number, you then have to go to the archives yourself and look up the buriel entry with that order number to find out the name of the person buried.

Allerton don't have access to the names for other burials. They give you the interment numbers so you can get the names from the Liverpool Records Office. This is what Allerton said:-

"We do not have the information in our records, only interment order numbers. The space for each burial per grave is so small in the original registers that there simply is not room. We do have computerised records from November 2000 only. If you wish to trace other people in a specific grave I can give you the interment order numbers and you can research the burials yourself through the Liverpool Records Office."

You'll need to find out if the information is available on microfiche or at the temporary archive. Allerton say about the Liverpool archives:-

"Yes you can look up the information at Sandhills etc if the information is available in the temporary archive. You will need to check with the Records office first to see which information is on record. We are a separate dept. and do not have access to what is available."
