The Banns for this marriage say

Willm PRATT & Ann SHARMAN born of this parish 20, 27-5, 3-6-1770

So i am a little confused as to if he was born in the parish or not :?

B is surely Bachelor as the W for Widow is after Ann's name.

Where can we see a copy of this image for ourselves ?

Hi,
I'd say William was not born in the parish [see letters 'tp' for 'this parish'] but Ann was. Sojourner is the same as a 'blow-in' where I live! As MaryA says B almost certain to be for Bachelor and the W for Widow.

For the JJ a meaning escapes me at present.

Hi all

and thanks for your input i got these records from a lady who was transcribing them.. they are for the parish of Stoneleigh Warwickshire..i have asked her if she has the originals i await her reply.

I had hit a brickwall many years ago with my 4x Great Grandfather Joseph Pratt..with the help of these records i have since found a burial for a Wiliam in 1836 aged 45 same address as my Josephs family so now i believe he was my Josephs son..

which now conects the William who married Ann Sharman to my Joseph i believe William senior could have been my Josephs father...

To discover whether there are any inquest records you would need to check the local Record Office, http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/countyrecordoffice where you may also be able to see the original marriage document. If you managed to get a photograph of it you might find out that you have a different opinion about those letters, also the staff might have been asked that question before, they might know something about the abbreviations marked against entries.

Nothing found in the old newspapers online.
