Hi Ann,
The Everton Langsdale Street appears to run from #25 to #67 and is classed as Sub-district South Everton. It includes a sizeable timber yard, a big pub, and a coal yard.

Perhaps you could give us the name of the baptism and date and we could see it for ourselves and perhaps offer some suggestions.

I have a 1884 Liverpool Street index, I have looked in it for all possible street names, and the only one nearest to it is Langsdale Street off Soho Street.
Thanks DS, Jan, and Mary...this is for Thomas Royle B 15.03.1883 and C 30.03 1883...parents Thomas and Jane
The other children are Sarah Ellen...Esther and Elizabeth my grandmother.
I do have lots of info now on my Riley ((Royle)) family.. but I was just trying to ascertain whether Knowsley Street and Laupdale/Langdale Street where near to each other. Also how near would these streets be to St Peters .. for Thomas and Jane to get their children baptised.
This part of my family has been a huge brick wall and I was greatly helped by members a while back... however the discrepencies with their surname Riley/Rilly/Ryall/Royle have put some doubts in my mind although the above christenings and parents names do tie in.
Ds.. where you able to see the name of the pub because on one of the christenings father Thomas was a Brewer?
Regards Ann

The pub, only described on the census summary as a Beer House, was located at 39 & 41 Langsdale Street, Everton, Liverpool and run by: John HOLMES, - Widower - 50 - Licensed Beer & Wine Retailer - Bootle, Cumberland. He was assisted by his u/m sister Margaret HOLMES, 28 - Bootle, Cumberland.

I had a look at the actual image of the baptism for Thomas bn 1883, I think it does say Langsdale Street, it looks like a very squeezed in g, then the curved s. If you look on the opposit page for other baptisms, try and compare the g's.
In 1909 there were three pubs in Langsdale Street:
22, no name given, owned by Bents Brewery [closed in 1912]
23, Great Eastern, owned by Peter Walker & Son Ltd.
39, Bee Hive, beer licence, P. W. & Son. The tenant then was John Glover.
I agree with Langsdale. I don't believe the vicinity to St Peter's matters at all since this was the Parish Church of Liverpool and many people used it, especially for occasions such as baptisms, marriages etc. even if they didn't for their usual regular services.
