Dear Wonderwoman,

What a difference you have made to me . If I ever have the good fortune to meet you it will be my utmost pleasure to buy you a toffee apple!

I am off to the local library shortly to see what I can find out but it seems that there is not much left to do.

Everything I wanted has now been achieved by you and I hope you have got at least half as much pleasure out of the find as I have by your notification. Thank you so much.

Phil

Dear Clatterbridgegirl1967,

My access to Ancestry is via the local library. I am going there this afternoon.

There are two things that have come out of this apart from my ecstasy. One is that my parents always told me that my Aunty Eedie lived in Florida. I could never understand this with all of the Georgia connection. Secondly, she seems to like the name Joseph!!

I did not know that you are 'down under' I think my toffee apple will just have to be a dream.

Good whatever time of the day it is and pleasant dreams,

Phil

Hello Mary A,

I second that proposal. It is so gratifying that other people can share the pleasures of this interest. I don't think that I have much more to look for. I have been to the library today and feel confidant that there are no children of the marriage. I have picked up a small amount of interesting (to me) items re her sailing to the UK and back from Liverpool but that is now pretty much it.

My next task is to put it all together from the Grosart side. My Dad's side will have to go on hold for a while. They ain't going no place!

My thanks to everyone involved over all of the time.

Dear Ali,

You certainly summed it up very well.

You have given me a great deal of pleasure and my immediate family have all expressed surprise and appreciation at the apparently easy way you ploughed into it. I have taken months chasing this info. I have travelled hundreds of miles into London (National Archives), up to Liverpool and North Wales on several occasions and now you just pressed a few buttons and made it all seem so easy.

Thank you very much from myself and my family.

At least Ali has the honesty to acknowledge that she went somewhere that couldn't even teach her if they tried. Anyway, to keep on course, what we have learnt from down under is that they are very good at recovering the ashes. No, not those ASHES.
