'Cades' Birchfield Road

Hi All,

Can somebody kindly do a look up for me please and tell me who lived at 'Cades' 5 Birchfield Road, Edge Lane, Liverpool 7 around 1938 using any of the Liverpool Street Directories?

My Jones Family lived there up to at least 1922 when the house was left to Gertrude Eveline Moore (nee Jones).

The house is still there but unfortunately like most of the big houses of that time has fallen into disrepair.

1911 Directory has Mrs Sophia Perry Jones at
"Cades"5 Birchfield Rd.
In Sophia's will in 1922 there is a Constance Amy Jones spinster mentioned.
I did find a Mrs Gertrude E Moore in New Brighton 1938

Thanks for looking for me.

I have all the Census's for the Jones Family while living at 'Cades' up to and including 1911 plus Sophia's Will. I was trying to find out if any of the Family continued to live at 'Cades' after Sophia died in 1922. Sophia left the house to her Daughter Constance Amy Jones (Spinster). In addition she left another house at 2 Wood Grove Edge Lane Liverpool to her other Daughter Gertrude Eveline Moore. Wood Grove is no longer there but 'Cades' 5 Birchfield Road Edge Lane is still standing.

It would be good to know if any of my Family continued living there after Sophia's death,

Hi Roy
I looked in phone books in Anc## for the ladies with no luck.

In 1938 Directory at No. 5 is J Hanson & Sons garage
& Ernest Gillett seedsman.
I've found Hanson in phone books which lists him at No. 9
which makes more sense.
Can't look just for the road, need a surname too.
That's how I found Sophia.
You may have to search electoral rolls as I don't know if anyone has
a Directory for the 1920s.
