West Derby Union Infirmary

Post by mmeldrum »

I have a death registration for Michael James Byrne (Aug 25, 1912). He died at the West Derby Union Infirmary at the age of 55. Can anyone suggest a cemetery that might have been used for the burial? Parts of the family prior to 1900 were definitely RC but can't be sure for this person.

Since he may well have been of the RC religion, your first place to check is the RC cemeteries of Ford, Yew Tree and Ainsdale, the entries for which are collected together on a fiche in the Liverpool Record Office.

The burial could also have taken place at either West Derby or Anfield cemeteries.

I notice that you aren't in this country, you could investigate whether these are available to view at your nearest LDS Centre, alternatively you may wish to request a researcher to check these for you. If you wanted to follow this line please contact me and I can put you in touch with a reliable one who would give value for money.
