Should have said I think yours is the William born 1825 the son of William and Hannah.

The one in West Broughton I think is the one born in 1830 son of John and Ruth - he has a daughter Ruth.

It's likely that you may find John and William (the fathers) are brothers!

Hi

yes maybe that's why they were in the same house.

Maybe William & Ruth died and that left John and Hannah to look after a mix of the Children.

more later

Thanks

John or William

Post by sailorden1 »

In 1861 he gives Broughton. I notice he is a boot closer. On this census he gives his birth year as 1827.

Hi
I cant find him in the 1861 census? May thats the piece that I missed?

Is it possible/allowed to send a screen shot?

Park Family

Post by sailorden1 »

Hi

Just when we thought we had it worked out then another curve ball comes along!

I just obtained the Wedding Cert for William Robert Park to Alice Ann Barnes, all looks well with that , therefore nothing changes there.

But then I also got his fathers wedding cert (William Park to Ann McKittrick East).

If you remember William has a birth place as Broughton in Furness on a couple of his Census returns.
His Father is named as Thomas Park! Argh.

It looks like William was the eldest of the Family (siblingsJohn, Mary, Joel, Liverson, Agnes & Cowpland.

Thomas was in Liverpool and Married to Agnes X (born c1811 maybe Ulverson). Maybe Thomas was from Egremont (i saw it on one of the census sheets but it was almost unreadable.

So basically I'm back to square one.

Thomas and Agnes

Thats great Thanks!

Also it was found my another member :

Thomas Park married Agnes Newby at Thwaites 15 September 1827 .

Thomas was from Egremont and Agnes was from Thwaites.

So more about them would be great!

Thanks

Sounds suspicious to me - the familysearch site has two marriages for Agnes Newby, one to Thomas Parke 17 Jun 1827 — Millom, Cumberland, England and the other to Thomas Park 15 Sep 1827 — Thwaites, Cumberland, England.

If it were me I would want to view the films to see the original registers.

In the 1851 census Agnes is recorded as born in Lancashire. She is on the 1891 census, 62, living in Hale Cheshire and recorded as born in Horwich. I don't know if that fits in with a marriage in Cumberland or not?
Can't find the family anywhere in 1881 although Cowpland turns up in 1891 - then I can't find his marriage anywhere!

Thomas Park & Agnes

Post by sailorden1 »

Hi,

In the 1861 census you can see that the place of birth of Thomas is Egremont and for Agnes it looks like twaites (mis spelling).

so the Thwaites location looks good.

I will double check it

Thanks

Hi

Thomas died in 1866 and agnes lived on until 1881 as a widow.

I can see the family from 1841 till 1881.

In 1881 Agnes Park was living with her daughter Mary who married William Roshon? (a cooper) at 3, Bronte Street, Liverpool, Mount Pleasant

Hi Tina,

Thanks for that. I was looking at that census form until my eyes popped out and just could not get it!

Rostron!

I just checked and William and Mary are also in the 1871 Census as well.
