Greetings from a sunny and cold Allerton Road!
I am delighted to report that the bottle has arrived!
A very strange addition to a medal collection, but one I had to have!
Many thanks to all who have helped on this one. I have not yet tracked down his place of burial or indeed a photo of him.
Finding a photograph of the man whose medals I have in my care is a tremendous feeling as it really brings him to life.
Best wishes to all for the festive season.

You may have already told us this Mark and maybe it's slipped my mind, but I'm wondering what happens to the medals and people stories you've put in so much effort to collect. Will they be exhibited?

Hi Mary,
I have collected medals for nearly 40 years! I started when my grandmother gave me those awarded to various members of her family, including those to Albert Llewellyn Parry who served with the 6th Liverpool Regt. Sadly, Albert was killed near Ypres in 1917.
The whole reason for collecting is to remember the men who were awarded the medals. It is so important that they are not forgotten.
My research interest is centred around the 55th West Lancashire Division in WW1 and I have spent more hours than I care to remember researching in local libraries! But I love it!
Regards

Charles Alban Furniss
Not sure whether you are still researching my Grandfather Charles. I have asked my father , who found your page on Google and who is the eldest of Charles' 3 sons (2 surviving) whether he has a photo. He did have a partial family tree at one time.
