Sorry Holly Occupations are not listed on the Roman Catholic Marriage Registers that were filled in by the priest. You will have to get the certificate.

Hi Holly,
If you have his age at marriage, you could find him in the 1911 census. Probability is he will have the same occupation then.

Hello and thank you all for your replies.

to be brief, 1911 has him as Clerk, I have a reference for him dated Feb 1912 were his employer states 'He leaves on his own accord to better himself abroad.' .................... he married Nana in 1916 so was rather hoping his marriage cert would throw some light on where he went in 1912. Just me clutching at straws yet again !!
