St Malachys Dingle
St Malachys Dingle
I was showing my cousin the sites of where our ancestors lived on Saturday & stumbled across St Malachys being torn down this Saturday 9.10.2010. Looks like the school & church are on the way down .The most annoying part of this clearance in Dingle ,is to see the massive streets that have been cleared & are now just overgrown green zones . Sad.[/img]
I find it very sad that our old churches are being demolished, unfortunately I think it has become a sign of the times that there is not a large enough congregation for the upkeep of the building, especially some of the old ones. History aside, those who do attend services want the comfort of a heated place of worship and modern amenities.
