Bootle Baptisms

Post by manxcat »

I'm trying to find the date of my fathers baptism at St. Leonard's Church Bootle in early 1916. He was born 3rd February. Likewise for my mother who was born 8th September 1920.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The records don't appear to be held at Liverpool, the best thing to try is Crosby Library http://www.sefton.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=5947 alternatively contact the church direct

St. Leonards
Peel Rd, Bootle, Merseyside L20 4XG
Tel: 0151 933 3366

The original church although built in 1889 was destroyed by enemy action in 1941, I hope the registers survived.

Mary these records are at Liverpool under ref 283 LEO St Leonard Bootle. I think they are only accessable in original form so once again these will not be available till October
