Toxteth Park Cemetery - GOLDRING

I came up with the information listed for my Great-grandmother and Great uncle - what I'd like to know is...... if the graves still exist and if it's possible to get photos of them some how

for them both - obvisoulsy buried together - I need to get death certs for both but it looks like they could both have been ill................... 3/4 weeks between deaths.............

Have a look at section 10 on the satellite view below there seems to be a lot of unmarked graves in that section so if anyone can go there you might be lucky or you might end up with a photo of unmarked land:-

Thank you so much - I've now also found the grave of Susan's father - my great-grandfather who's buried in Section 13 - grave 700 - I've contacted the cemetery and I'm hoping to visit in the next month or so......... Thanks for your info!

Some advice about Section 13, Plot 700:

It does not appear on the map on the Toxteth Park Cemetery website. It has been cut off the top-right of this map:

It is a small headstone between the footpath and a long brick wall, that runs at the back of some houses. It is beside the path.

Having now been and visited the graveyard and FOUND all the graves I was looking for - I've now found other members of the family who are buried there............ in the next section......... sadly didn't know at the time or would have visited. Managed to clean the stones of some of the family and was really impressed with the upkeep of the cemetry and to see the work going on with the gatehouses.......... Really interesting walking through this cemetry and reading some of the headstones!

Have to say it was also very sad to see the grave of my great uncle (aged 2) and great-grandmother dying so closely and so young but lovely to see that my great-grandfather really loved/respected her when I saw the headstone and the inscription.

Apologies - haven't been in touch. Your post has reminded me. Have you the data on the births/baptisms of:-

Margaret Lilian Ballard 1900
Nelly Ballard 1901
Martha Ballard 1903

and your grandmother born 6.12.1905 baptised as Mary Lizzie on 25.3.1906.

If you haven't got them I can email the church baptismal entries to you as attachments.

If you have then no need to reply - I'll just assume it.

Hi Ken - no I don't have any of them................. would like to though. Hope all well with you and yours - see you're in France - just down the road! Enjoy - hope the weather is good.

Ken - visited Dan's grave - was sad to see the mess in the graveyard - took flasks of boiling water and sponges/cloths and my daughter and I cleaned up the grave - you couldn't read it when we arrived but managed to clean it up so it's now legible - will root out all the photos I took and get them to you.

Having now been and visited the graveyard and FOUND all the graves I was looking for - I've now found other members of the family who are buried there............

Now have found out that not only did she lose a son at the age of 2 years but also lost her daughter, born before my grandfather, at the age of 3. Ada was born in 1899 and died in 1902, 12 months prior to the birth of my grandfather............. she too is buried in Toxteth but we didn't find her due to a spelling error in the cemetery database - they have her down as GOLDING and not GOLDRING........

It's so sad isn't it, the mortality rate, particularly in children was extremely bad. Can't imagine what the family must have felt.

Sadly my mother didn't know about the brother so the sister came as a big shock - her father never spoke about his family or his childhood - losing his mother at an early age and then gaining a step-mum must have been traumatic.
