Grosart Family - West Derby / Toxteth Park
To all who have posted a reply
Just logged back into the site this morning and astounded by the number of posts to my enquiry. Between all the posters you have added so much to what I knew of the family. I had the basic marriage, birth and deaths dates and places - and from family knowledge had a skeleton only of how the families developed but the information has given me so much more to build on.
Another question - the addresses noted in the census would be what sort of housing? I suspect that the family may have been doing OK (not rich but not poor) from local knowledge can anyone advise.
Again a big thank you to you all - I am now sort of wishing I had more links with Liverpool.
Robert

Grosart
I am new to this so hello and forgive me if I am not so quick on using the site. I was recently googling old names in my family and this website came up with Grosart. My uncle was James Joseph Grosart who had a brother called Felix (that is the only sibling I remember but he did have other brothers) he was from Liverpool and a lift engineer. Please let me know if this is the James Grosart that you need information on and I can only tell you what I know I see that a Pauline has contacted you I do have a sister in law Pauline who is doing her family tree I wonder if it is her that has been emailing you if so I may be repeating some information. Look forward to hearing from you.

The Grosart Family
Forgive me for intruding on Troupmans' messages - he knows that I do it. I am listed elsewhere under my own name - Philip Roberts. I am the third son of Violet Grosart listed by PJ Long. You will see that I am trying valiantly (and failing so far) to trace George A Grosart. Do not mix him up with my Uncle Ken, George K Grosart. Uncle Ken was the brother of my mother Violet. George A Grosart really did exist. I have met him several times but the only official record that I can find is an electoral roll record of 1951 in Meliden, North Wales. My own messages give details of my inquiries. "All donations gladly received".
