would some kind person be able to tell me if the above travelled from Liverpool to the USA sometime between 1870 and 1876 when he married in Ohio to a Catherine Motz from Germany. this man is the brother to my Quines who moved to Liverpool around the same time frame.
I have him on the 1880 US census in Summit, Akron Ohio and presumedly he is still there in 1900/1910/1920

By 1900, still in Summit, he is 52, widowed, occupation Janitor, claims the year of immigration is 1873 and has been in the USA for 27 years.
Son Harry is 23, daughter Bessie H is 20 and son Cloyd R is 17.

1910 still in Summit, he's at home with Bessie and claims to have immigrated in 1870.

By 1920 he claims to have immigrated in 1864 and naturalised in 1877!!

Still at home with Bessie H and with a lodger and a roomer.

thanks Mary my "Anc" sub ran out...but can't renew for 2 weeks...found what I thought could be him on censuses after 1880 but needed verification....this recession is hitting hard at the moment, hubby going to school to change prof, so less money for my fun at the moment....still I love the fact that he is not a long distance lorry driver anymore... he can finally spend time with me.

got your email and now with the proof I needed was able to access social security index and find birth and death date for several of the children. thanks a million
