Hi all,
Trying to find an inquest held into the death, possibly in the docks, circa 1880s, of an Alexander or Henry McKay [born in N. Ireland]. Believed to have been a seaman who died as the result of an accident on board ship.

Thanks for that Hilary. My query/quest was on behalf of a contact who has only the most tenuous 'bits' of info passed down through the family. I'll pass your info on and hope for the best.Education Officer wrote:I had a look for a possible death and found

Could that be your man. If so the death certiciate may help if the certificate mentions inquest or coroner.
